Misty Smith-Luebbert Foundation

No one is innocent.

Misty died as a result of injuries sustained in a tragic car accident on Mother's Day in 2006. The driver that hit her was an intoxicated 20-year-old youth just back from a tour in Iraq with the United States Army.

Misty had just received her full Mental Health Licensure a few days before. She was thrilled at the upcoming birth of her husband's first child. Her work, life, and future had finally blended themselves into the dream she had always wanted so passionately.

An emergency C-section was performed shortly after the accident. Daughter Jadyn Darlene was the result of that emergency C-section. Mother is gone, but daughter lives on!!! She is a bright and bubbly child who looks and laughs like Misty!!!

Misty felt a deep passion for the Adolecent Substance Abuse program! Those of us that worked with her humbly hope we can carry on that message and save our youth from addiction!

Misty's supervisor: She did her job with a lot of passion and she was great at it! She was a very caring and empathetic person!

Misty herself wrote:

What is at the core of your consciousness? Well mine is my passion! I am passionate about everything I do!!! My husband often tells me: You're too passionate about things! I tell him: Things need to be confronted because it is the principle of the matter.
